The Performing Arts Award is a $1000 cash award given to a graduating senior at each participating local area high school.

This is a cash award not a scholarship. You do not have to be going on to higher education to win this award.

Who is eligible:

You must have participated in the performing arts. This includes Band, Choir, Orchestra, Drama and Stage Crew, and be a graduating senior at a participating school.

Submission Requirements:

Submit a 100 word, or more, essay on how participating in the performing arts has assisted you in your core educational classes. Each submission must have two (2) endorsements from any of the performing art instructors at your school. (Band/Orchestra Directors, Choral Directors, and Drama Teachers)

We chose only 100 words because Christopher hated having to write essays and we know that those seniors going on to higher education are already writing a lot of essays.

How to submit your essay:

West Aurora High School:

Include a Photo of yourself participating in the performing arts, two (2) endorsements from performing art instructors and contact information.

Batavia High School:

Mail (USPS) your essay, two (2) endorsements from performing arts instructors, and contact information to:

All entries must be received by April 9, 2018.

All submissions become the property of Chris Patterson Memorial Foundation. You give the Chris Patterson Memorial Foundation permission to use your submission and likeness on their website and in publications. Winners are chosen by a board of judges, all decisions are final. The Foundation is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail/submissions.
